Our Story
OOMDEH was born from a shared journey of rediscovery. a journey that began when the world slowed down and everyday life took an unexpected pause.
During the COVID period, with limited access to modern conveniences and growing uncertainty, there was a natural return to roots. Kitchen shelves, familiar herbs, and time-honoured practices once again became a source of comfort and care. It was during this time that both founders, from very different professional backgrounds, found themselves drawn towards the same realization.
One of the founders, with a background in media, had always been surrounded by stories, experiences, and evolving beauty trends. Later, her path led her towards Ayurveda, reconnecting with the herbal wisdom she had grown up witnessing in Indian households — where oils, herbs, and simple remedies were part of everyday life. Post-COVID, she experienced visible changes in her skin and hair, which led her instinctively back to familiar kitchen ingredients and dadi ke nuskhe. What began as personal care soon turned into a deeper curiosity and consistent practice.
The second founder, from a legal background, experienced a similar shift during the same period. With everything closed and access limited, there was a growing awareness of how deeply rooted herbal knowledge had always been in daily living. Extensive reading, learning, and research followed not as a business idea, but as a genuine exploration of traditional care in modern times. What started independently soon became a shared vision.
Simple formulations were created for personal use, refined with care, and later shared with close friends and family. As positive feedback and visible changes followed, the idea naturally evolved into something larger a desire to create honest, thoughtfully crafted products rooted in tradition yet suited for modern lifestyles.
